Many of you saw our blog post on the plans for our dress drive at Lambert high school in Forsyth, Georgia. Well, we’re back to tell you it was a major success.
To recap, we partnered up with the non-profit organization, Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta. This organization strives to provide over 140,000 girls across the US and Canada with unforgettable experiences and solutions to their own individual challenges. One of their projects during the Spring, is seeking out prom dress donations, so the girls in their program can experience a special prom night.
We found this cause to be a spectacular one and decided to see what Borrowed by Design could do to help.
We hosted a dress drive with the goal of collecting as many dresses as possible to donate to the ladies of Girls Inc. and Lambert High School was eager to get involved. We paired up with the Student Council and they were gracious enough to offer a 10% discount on prom tickets for every dress donated.
Thanks to the Lambert students, staff, and parents, we collected 60 dresses that were donated directly to the Girls Inc. organization. We were thrilled to see all the stunning gowns handed to us one by one. The dress rack we brought on campus couldn’t even handle the heavy load of donations and we had to call in reinforcements!
There was certainly a dress for every style and we know they will help make for some spectacular nights.
If this is something you think your school would be interested in, let us know! There are so many other girls still in need of a prom dress and we would love to come allow you to help make a difference as well!
